Privacy
The short version: this is a static site. No accounts, no ads, no tracking cookies.
Hale Woods is a static website. There is no login, no user account, no comment system, and no database. The site does not sell data, run advertising, or set tracking cookies.
Hosting
The site is served through Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser user-agent) to deliver pages and protect the site. See Cloudflare's own privacy documentation for details.
Analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use client-side state such as cookies or localStorage and does not fingerprint visitors. It reports aggregate page-view data only.
Your reading preferences
The theme, font, and text-size controls save your choices in your own browser's local storage. That data stays on your device - it is never sent to Hale Woods or anyone else, and it isn't a tracking cookie. Clearing your browser storage resets the controls to their defaults.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. The privacy-focused analytics above are cookieless, and the reading-preference storage described above is not a cookie and is never transmitted.
The newsletter signup form
The support page embeds Substack's own subscribe form directly in the page (an iframe), so signing up doesn't require leaving the site. That form is served from Substack's servers, not this site's - Substack's privacy policy and any cookies it sets apply to it, the same as if you'd visited Substack directly. This site never sees the email address you enter there.
Search engines
Ownership of the site may be verified with tools like Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. These tools report how the site appears in search results; they do not give those companies access to any visitor accounts, because there are none.
External links and embeds
Some pages link to other platforms where the work has also been published. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover. The one exception that loads third-party content directly, rather than only linking to it, is the Substack embed described above.
